Business Development Manager

Alata is a Fleet Technology and Fleet Management company that applies world class technology to industry leading fleet management practices to provide a comprehensive solution to customers of all sizes. Our primary product is a suite of SaaS applications that can be delivered individually or together to provide a customized user experience. For those customers who prefer more of a hands-on experience, we also offer professional services to assist with every aspect of managing the fleet asset lifecycle, allowing customers to focus on their unique abilities instead.

Alata is looking for a Business Development Manager who will help us build upon our foundation of strong product and customer relationships to continue to develop our customer base and monthly recurring and professional service revenue.

Role Overview

Primary responsibility is growing regional business by fostering and developing relationships with desired customers and referring partners. Secondary responsibility is supporting the development of national accounts through partnership with the Business Development team.

Reinforcing the reputation of the business by demonstrating ethical and respectful behavior in all business interactions.

Duties and Responsibilities


Business Development and Customer Engagement

  • Work with channel partners to identify opportunities and nurture leads throughout the sales cycle.
  • Perform needs analysis to make customer recommendations and inform our product team of new market opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal Marketing Department refine outbound and inbound marketing processes and marketing collateral.
  • Foster meaningful relationships with our channel and customer partners.
  • Work with vendors to find and provide best solution package for each opportunity.
  • Identify potential partnership opportunities where collaboration with other likeminded organizations would be beneficial to the customer.
  • Work with customer and internal team to resolve issues in a timely manor.
  • Manage customer information in CRM and Support systems.

Workflow

  • Primary development and prospecting of new commercial business through direct to customer and channel sales
  • Cold calling and emailing prospective customers
  • Improving profitability by working with Marketing and using customer performance data to select appropriate markets and targets
  • Continuously assess and mitigate areas of risk to the branch and company overall by reporting issues and communicating company policies, quality standards, and health and safety expectations to employees and vendors

Qualifications

  • University Degree preferred
  • 5 years’ experience in fleet management or SaaS
  • 2 years’ experience in either automotive, equipment sales / leasing or industrial sales preferred
